Well... What can I say, except that I had an awesome weekend. It all started Thursday afternoon when I got to to go to the airport to pick up gramma. Who, by the way, never had one moment to herself while I was awake. Man, I love that woman! We had a great family dinner (yup, that's right, daddy actually made it home for dinner) that night and then on Friday morning I got to have coffee with gramma (apparently mine was just chocolate milk). We hosted Tot Shabbat at our house all of my Shabbat friends came to my house to make Challah, then on Friday night, we went to the U of M Alumni hockey game and I got to see a ZAMBONI!!!! Those things are awesome. Gramma and I even managed to get right back next to the zamboni. Ahh, maybe someday I'll get to drive one of those suckers! Of course, none of the adults remembered to bring a camera!
Then the big day arrived, Saturday, the day of my most awesomest birthday party. I knew it was going to be a big day and that we had lots of work to do before the party, so I woke everyone up at 6am, so we could get crackin'. Daddy ran an errand and when he came home his car was filled with balloons! Too many balloons for me to count! Then Olivia and Kate (my babysitters) came over to help us get set up before everyone came.
And come they did! Very few RSVP'd no, so we had 14 kids, plus their siblings and their parents in our not so big backyard, but there were only 2 meltdowns (none by me) and no fighting over toys. We had a bounce house (thanks Michael for letting us borrow it), a drawing station, a decorate your own frame station, a play doh station, plus lots of balls and toys to play with and everyone had a blast. We got to play for an hour and then everyone was hungry for PIZZA!
Then it was cake time. I had a little help blowing out my candles. Thanks Charlie! I even burned my nose a bit reaching to get the 3rd candle, but even that couldn't distract me from cake, oh sweet cake! Everyone got a cupcake in an ice cream cone and then we all got to decorate it with whatever we wanted. After a brief break, we unveiled the pinata that mommy and I made. It wasn't the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, but we had fun making it together, and boy, did it have lots of fun stuff inside! We all got to take turns hitting the pinata, but that thing was built to last! Daddy finally took a turn and broke in to it. It was so much fun to search around for toys and candy. I found a lolli pop and stopped looking, I just had to get that wrapper off as soon as possible. Everyone got to chose their toys and candy, pick up a coloring book and crayons and head on home to sleep off the sugar and excitement of the day.
