Catching up...

Life has gotten busy, very busy! With school, homework, after school activities, daddy starting to get very busy at work, Sunday school, hockey and social gatherings, on the days where we have no where to go, I think the entire family takes a deep breath and just relaxes. Below are a few pictures to give you a glimpse in to our day to day lives.

a picture in front of one of the many giant ducks around town. There was a rubber ducky regatta, where you could buy a duck and then all of the ducks raced down the river, all for charity (imagine the sight of over 2 million rubber ducks floating down a river). Sadly, our family of four ducks did not cross the finish line first. No new car for us!

At Findlay market, a giant market and farmers market. Lots of fun and lots of people.

each of us, enjoying our treats!

Remi checked out the hockey equipment at Play It Again sports, while I was looking for soccer cleats

first day of soccer practice.

if only we could all live in a world of happiness like Remi does... Although, I will say, watch out world, Remi has been cranky these past few weeks!

Remi was skewering peppers for a cookout

check out my handy work. I skewered all of the tomatoes and mushrooms

yup, that's a giant iguana. Some super weird guy brings is iguana out to the lake to walk him around, and let me tell you, that man is more than happy to talk your ear off...

Labor day bbq with new friends

tennis lessons

Remi in her dance outfit... If she wasn't so darn cute, I think mama might just pass out at the thought of her girl, being a girly girl!

first game!

I love to play goalie...

Turning 5 Continued...

I just found more pictures from my birthday month, I wanted to post them before the month ends and I go back to being just Tyler and no longer known as "the birthday boy."

opening gifts from grandma Jo and grandpa David

tennis balls and golf balls, just what I needed

Sweet cheeks showing of her jewelry

I got a real hockey net as well, playing a hybrid game of tennocky, otherwise known as tennis and hockey

We went to a restaurant (pizza) of my choice and I got this pizza dough ball dessert thingy, that might just be the best thing I ever ate

Grandma Jo has a broken bone in her ankle, or is it foot? Either way, she has this really cool knee scooter that Remi and I both got to ride on at the Museum center

The museum center has a childrens musem, a museum of natural history and a history museum all under one roof. We didn't quite make it to the history museum and mama stopped taking pictures b/c she was so into the museums. Lots of fun

Tyler turns 5!

I turned five on August 5th and because I had friends and family dribbling in over the entire month of August, I declared August, to be my birthday, all of August! We went on lots of adventures, I had visitors, some a surprise, some expected and LOTS of fun. It was so fun to see so many people and show them my new life in Cincinnati. Thank you to all for the cards, the phone calls and gifts. It was a great birthday!

on my actual birthday, mama picked me up from camp and we headed to the zoo. The train at any zoo is always the highlight for me.

And, she let us have ice cream for a treat!

help, the alligator is eating my head!

helping out my favorite girl

daddy surprised me at the zoo, his office is right next to the zoo, so he popped over after work.

We then went out for pizza and we got to have cookie sandwiches in the shape of, you guessed it, the number 5.

the next morning, our doorbell rang at 7:30am, I opened the door and you will never guess who was the door. Grandpa Irwin! That's right, he flew all night just to surprise me for my birthday. I am truly a lucky boy.

we headed to the amusement park for the day, this is what we looked like after a ride. We weren't expecting to get so wet!

leaving the water park section after a LONG day of going down VERY tall slides.

one last birthday treat... Cotton Candy! We did not know this stuff existed, but it's good. Although after a few bites, I just couldn't eat any more, just too sweet for me. And ever since our dental health unit at preschool last year, I know that sugar is bad for your teeth. Yeah, I know, I'm THAT kid...

On Sunday, we went fishing in the morning

got to eat my cookie cake

and went on a river boat cruise

needless to say, this tired me out immensely and I fell asleep on mama. Something I haven't done since I was 2!

Then we hit up Joe's crabshack for an early dinner, so grandpa could catch his flight back to CA. Thanks again for coming to visit Grandpa, that was the best surprise ever!

the next weekend we went to the Western Southern ATP tennis tournament. This is a big warm up tournament for the US open. I was quite impressed with the tennis being played and am now begging for tennis lessons.

We got to watch Maria Sharipova practice, mama and daddy were impressed. Personally, I think I could take her...

a morning hike in one of the local parks

what is that green sludge?

playing at the small waterpark at the park.

feeding the ducks and yes, I did put my hand down too close to the water and got nipped by a duck. Not everyone can say they were bitten by a duck!

The one of my closest friends, Mahala came to visit for the week.

and we got to take group showers. good times!

back on the train at the zoo

Then, grandma Jo and Grandpa David came down to celebrate with me and we rented a pontoon boat
