Hi ho, hi ho, off to the Natural History Museam we go...

Well, now that Remi is only taking one nap a day, our lives have become MUCH more exciting. Instead of sitting at home, trying to play quietly, we are able to take new adventures to places, new and old... On Friday, mama took us to the U of M Natural History Museum, and guess what! They had dinosaurs there, I'm not kidding, big ones, and I even got to see the bones of a T-Rex head! Below are pictures from our adventure, we had lots of fun and we'll be going back there lots, not only b/c we like it, but it's FREE, always a plus in mama's book.

"look mama, a lobster!"

"I don't see clams this big on the beach in Gloucester."

"look at the mussels. Mama, can we have mussels for dinner?"

Hanging out on the Rainbow tree. You should google it, it's pretty cool

"Look at that giant snail.

Maybe I'll be a plumber...

Last Saturday, I awoke early, ready to take on the day. Ok, actually I woke up early b/c I knew daddy wouldn't be going to work that day and I wanted to squeeze in as much daddy time as possible... Well, I had big plans for that Saturday morning and all were dashed when I came downstairs only to find a pipe broken, underneath the sink in the kitchen. So, needless to say, I pushed aside my thoughts of living room hockey and flashlight reading, got out my tools and set to work. Apparently, the S trap was leaking and while that was being repaired, daddy managed to "tweak" (his words, not mine) the connection to the disposal. After further investigation, we found that our 19 year old disposal had ground it's last food... So, a trip to the bagel store and 3 trips to the hardware store later, we had a working, non leaking sink, and new disposal. Thank goodness I was home, I think daddy really would have struggled with this on his own...

This is what the pipe looked like before I repaired it

Helping daddy out, I kept trying to give him little hints, so he would think he figured it out on his own!

Doing a little "tweaking" of my own when daddy ran to the hardware store AGAIN. Thank goodness I as able to fix his mess without him knowing!

"You see that S trap there, it's not supposed to look like this..."

More gifts for Remi...

Ok, Remi's birthday is OVER! Enough will all of the gifts. Sure, I'm the one who get's to unwrap them, but when they aren't for me, it's just not as much fun. I recommend we have a Tyler day, VERY soon!

Remi, got another giraffe. This girl has a thing for giraffes...

A talking frog for Remi. I'm the one in the frog room, I should have the talking frog!

Remi's 1st Birthday Luau: Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures of the birthday party weekend. We smoked herring on Sunday morning, a Goldstein tradition, Tyler helped Grandpa David build a skating tutor, and I finally got to sit forward facing in the carseat! Something mommy had totally forgotten about, thank you Grandpa David for asking mommy about this and allowing me to see the world as it should be!

A picture of all of the my family members who helped celebrate my birthday. What a lucky girl I am!

Remi 1st Birthday Luau: The Gifts...

While I certainly didn't need anything for my birthday, many people graciously showered me with gifts on my special day. Below are a few pics of the gift giving extravaganza. There were too many gifts to open during my party, so mommy and daddy opted to stretch out the gift opening for a week, as you'll see by the pics at the end, it was all just too overwhelming and I couldn't handle it anymore. Thank you to all who gave me gifts on my birthday. While it wasn't necessary, it was most certainly appreciated.

I got a jack-in-the-box!

And custom aprons, made out of vintage cloth. So cool! Thanks Lu's, more specifically, Andrea, who made them both by hand!

One of my new pieces of apparel

Since I had an audience, I decided to show off a little and stand on my own!

Can you tell that daddy was surprised!

Happy Daddy

Sam, was my gift deliverer, he did an excellent job, for I never went more than 30 seconds waiting for another gift to open. He is obviously a professional...

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to! 2pm rolled around and I started to meltdown. Too much excitement for a little girl can wreak havoc with her emotions...

Remi's 1st Birthday Luau: The Cake!

The cake! The cake! I LOVE cake! Ok, so I had never really heard of cake, much less eaten it, but I have to say, one of my favorite new things is CAKE! For some reason, mommy and daddy willingly gave me this wonderful concoction of flour, sugar and chocolate on my birthday. I hope this tradition continues and I also hope I have a birthday every week. Everyone had a hand in the cake; mommy made it, grandma Jo frosted it and grandma sue decorated it. Fine job ladies!

Tyler was very excited to bring me my cake. Thanks big brother, keep up the good work! Keep the cake comin'

What the h@*# is that?

Blowing out the candles

Ok, now what do I do with it?

Oh, you want me to eat it. I'm not a dainty girl, but I think I'll take tiny tiny bites of this gorgeous cake.

Hmmm, what is this taste? I don't know about this.

oh, I can have more?

ok

What are you lookin' at? Don't even think of coming near this cake!

Ahh, chocolate bliss

Mommy, here have some!

Mommy had chocolate all over her face and then she kissed Tyler and got chocolate all over his face

Can you please stop taking pictures of me and let me eat my cake in peace!

Here, grandma Jo, you can have some
