Halloween Week

This past week has been a busy week in the Goldstein household. Remi and I just got back to a normal sleeping schedule on Friday (it took us awhile to recover from our CA trip) and sure enough daylight savings is on Saturday, so we get to mess with mommy and daddy some more when it comes to sleep. Personally, I was quite thrilled to be able to stay up an hour later on the big night. Halloween is a big deal in our neighborhood, with many neighbors decorating their houses, shipping in GIANT pumpkins and half of the city driving in to trick or treat. Needless to say, the streets are full, but fun was had by all. This year was a bit cooler than years past, but the 40 degree weather didn't stop either of us from honing our trick or treating skills. This year was the year that halloween really "clicked" for me, going up to random houses and getting candy, just for showing up, now that's my kind of holiday. But to make Halloween really special this year, I actually got to go to a birthday party during the day, jump in a bunch of bounce houses and eat ice cream cake, not a bad prelude to a night of sugar driven hyperactivity. Enjoy your pictures from the week.

Howdy!

Carving my pumpkin

Peek-a-boo, I see you!

My pumpkin. I originally wanted a sad face and then after it was carved I didn't like how sad the pumpkin looked, so daddy had to do a little bit of carving work. This is the final result...

What's in there?

Ok, so I have an unorthodox way of playing the trumpet

Pumpkin Picking

Halloween is just about here and mommy and daddy hadn't taken me pumpkin picking, so this morning, I happened to mention that I would like to pick a pumpkin or two... Well, half an hour later, we were in the family truckster headed to our favorite apple farm to pick some pumpkins. Needless to say, the picking was sparse, but we were able to find a few "good" ones. I got to pick out a big pumpkin and I picked out a little pumpkin for Remi. After pumpkin picking, daddy and I shared a donut.

Mommy bought Remi and I pumpkins b/c she didn't know if we were able to go picking. This is me painting my pumpkin and myself!

Sneaking an apple...

We were walking the fields and some random person offered to take our picture. Gotta love midwest nice

Being Silly

You can just tell by this picture that Remi and I are going to get in a LOT of trouble together when we're older.

"How much longer do I need to smile for daddy to give ME a donut..."

SeaWorld and Joe's Crabshack

On Monday, our last real day in CA, Grandma took us to SeaWorld and it was AWESOME. I got to touch and feed dolphins and black rays, pick up starfish, see sharks and penguins and even polar bears. That night we headed to Joe's Crabshack for dinner, where I polished off an adult portion of crab and hung out with Jayden for one last time. Remi was her usual charming self, happy go-lucky, but let me tell you, don't step in front of that girl when she's going for a french fry, she'll scream at you! Despite what she thinks, she's only 9 months old and can't eat fries yet, but it was fun to taunt her with them...

Remi at SeaWorld. Just hangin' out as usual

Daddy was holding me up over the edge so I could see and pet the dolphins

That's right folks, that's me and that's a dolphin right next to me!

Did I mention I GOT TO FEED DOLPHINS

Dolphins feel VERY smooth and soft

What a neat experience

I even let daddy have a turn petting the dolphin

"Mommy, why can't we have one of these at home?"

Notice the do not cross rope BEHIND me...

Touching a black ray

Those things are hungry, when I put the food in the water, I was the most popular boy there!

"That's a funny feeling!"

Grandma was scared to feed them, so I had to help her

Picking up my first ever starfish

Do you see me holding the bright red starfish. I thought they were lonely, so I would pick them up and move them closer to each other so they had friends.

Touching a sea urchin.. Prickly!

Checking out the sea turtles

Remi was happy after a 10 minute cat nap

Checking out the penguins with mommy

The only family picture we managed to take while on vacation

That thing is HUGE

Eating crab at Joe's, could life get any better?

Remi, trying to sneak some crab

Remi going after the fries

Whenever Remi would see Grandpa she would start to cry, except on the last day on the way to the airport.

Now Grandpa has 3 grandchildren who want to ride on his shoulders!
