Our trip to Boston - Part I

We headed out to Boston just two weeks after we moved to Cincinnati, but this year, we did it with a twist... We drove! That's right, google maps said it would be 15 1/2 hours and with stops, that is exactly how long it took us. We left at 1pm on Wednesday afternoon and arrived just after 4am on Thursday morning. Remi and I slept, but mama and daddy battled on and got us there, just in time to get a couple more hours of sleep before our vacation began!

Once we got there, we hit the ground running... We made our annual trip to Halibut Point, a beautiful state park with lots of rocks to climb.

Waving to the lobsterman

Then grandpa Irwin flew in for a whirlwind 30 hour visit and of course, we had to hit up port rocks, other wise know as Rockport

Not surprising, grandpa was distracted by the big flag!

if you look really close, you'll see grandpa and me at the very end of the rocks

ice cream for dessert

Then our friends Katie, Allan and Lucy came to visit

s'mores after dinner, another gloucester tradition

more climbing on rocks, this time at the beach, hunting for crab

more ice cream, after a woodman's lunch

Chasing grandpa around at woodmans. After lunch, Grandpa had to drive to the airport to catch his flight and he took daddy with him, as daddy had a conference for the next 4 days in Boston. I think it might the first time kids have cried leaving woodmans after eating ice cream. We were sad to see daddy and grandpa leave...
